Last night I had a dream that felt very profound and seemed to be telling me a message. Some times when we dream about an animal there is a message for us. I found that to be true last night. In my dream Steven Farmer came over and was showing me all his new work. I like his work. I said it was similar to mine. He showed me a bed, CD, and new artwork. There was this woman’s car backed into our house. Something with her animals. Then I saw a lion (mountain). He walked away. Then I saw very clearly a tiger and saw his face very vividly. He was on a leash. I called for hoppy who was on a leash. As I was grabbing Hoppy, Steven Farmer confronted the tiger.
There was so much going on in this dream that I would like to share my understanding as a way of teaching about messages that we receive. Many people say that when you dream about people it usually represents an aspect of you. Steven Farmer could be representing the male side of myself. He also represents a very strong connection to the animal kingdom and the spiritual side to them. I feel I am moving into this stage of life. I am coming out into the world with my work which seems to reflect the masculine side of myself. When he showed me his work, I felt it related to my revealing my soul work in the world. The bed relates to comfort which I love and crave. The CD could represent the new CD I just made and the artwork can represent the creative and artistic expression that we all can relate to in life. I have always loved art and grew up in a family surrounded by art in many ways. Steven Farmer is deeply spiritual and I am too.
In his book “Animal Spirit Guides” he discusses the significance of paying attention to an animal showing up in dreams or in an unusual way or as repeated sightings. He says when this happens to pay attention since there might be a message they are conveying from the spirit world. I have had animals show up around me for a long time. I took this dream to heart when I saw the tiger. After having this dream, I looked over at my nightstand and Steven Farmer’s book “Animal Spirit Guides” was there. I picked it up immediately and read the tiger section. It was no accident seeing his book and having him and a very distinct animal show up in my dream. It seemed very auspicious to me and very profound. I opened up the chapter on Tiger and here is what it said.
“Remain focused, be very patient, and you’ll soon receive a surprise that will help you achieve your goal more quickly than expected. You’ll soon find a way of healing from a physical condition or an emotional disturbance very quickly, followed by a noticeable increase in vitality. Create a sacred space in your home that is completely yours, one where others may enter only with your permission, and take the time to enjoy the solitude in this space. You’ll soon be experiencing a surge of passion and power that will remain with you for some time. Get ready for a new adventure, one that may present some challenges, but will introduce some dramatic changes in your life” by Steven D. Farmer, Ph.D.
My gut feelings on all of this is that this is a transformational time for me and I am clearing some past issues that have been with me for awhile. I strongly feel through writing, meditating, prayer, and exercise I am slowly letting go of these issues. These are powerful tools for any healing process!
