These times are filled with change…we hear the word everywhere. The energies are shifting and we need to stay steady and calm during these times and not let outside influences dictate our lives. Here are some suggestions for staying calm and fluid these days. We have the ability to bring positive change into our lives everyday.
1) Exercise – Feel alive and connected with yourself through yoga, pilates, hiking, swimming, biking and any other form of exercise that you love.
2) Laughter – Everyday… since it can shift you into a more peaceful and balanced state ( watch a funny movie).
3) Meditation – Helps you to tap into universal mind and the bigger picture of life.
4) Passion – Find something you love to do that keeps you focused on the present moment and keeps you excited about possibilities.
5) Compassionate action – Find some project that you love and volunteer for it. Volunteering opens our hearts and helps us to feel connected with others and feel compassion.
6) Visualization/affirmations – This is a time to make positive changes by active visualization everyday along with positive affirmations. Take one goal and feel it happening wtih every fiber of your being. When I was training for my black belt in karate I had a very hard time with braking boards. About a month before my test I visualized everyday breaking the boards with my elbow and foot. Very soon my visualizations felt so real to me that I felt my muscles working as I was visualizing. When the test came, the boards broke like slicing through butter. It worked and it works.
7) Prayer – Ask God, your guardian angels, spirit guides, higher self, and all your unseen loving support to work with you and help you move through your challenges. We have free will to do as we please, however, when we pray we always get answers. Last night I had a dream that was so profound about prayer. I was in a car that was on a road. The road turned into sand that was pulling the car backwards so fast that I lost control. In my dream, I prayed with all my heart and soul…”dear God please don’t let this car crash. ” A second or it felt like a second later the car slowed down and came to a complete stop. It happened in an instant and I woke up and felt immediately that this is how true prayer works. When we pray with our whole being the answers come very quickly.
Send loving thoughts – To our challenging relationships, the people we have the most difficulty with need loving thoughts rather than thoughts of fear. Our thoughts are just as poweful as our actions. Visualize love and kind thoughts to them and see the changes in your relationship. You just contributed to more peace on the planet.
9) Set an intention – Each day wake up and send an intentional thought into the day. For example, if you would like your day to be peaceful, send the thought “peace fills my day today and everyday” into your day.
10) Change one negative habit – It takes 30 days to change a habit. Pick just one thing in your life to focus on for one month and work on making the necessary changes.
11) Gratitude – Brings more blessings into your life. You are invoking deep appreciation with gratitude and that opens your heart to feeling more positive and grateful for your life. It keeps your focus on what is great about your life rather than what does not work in your life.
12) Look for the positive- With all the negative campaigning these days, it is clear how damaging negative attacks can be. Let’s look for positive traits in people rather than the negative. Let’s see how we can uplift everyone around us just by our changing our thinking.
12) Outdoors – It is most important to get outdoors everyday. “It helps you to get rid of the cobwebs in your mind” says my husband. It helps you to also feel connected and a part of this living breathing earth that we live on. Also, it reminds us to be responsible in some small way to take care of this land. If we all do a little something we are helping our planet survive these challenging times.
13) Forgiveness – This is the most difficult thing to do, but the most valuable thing we can do for our own health. Holding onto anger or unresolved resentment only hurts ourselves. Practise forgiving everyone in your life. It will assist you to living more in the moment rather than the past.
